The seat has a base (12) with an upper panel (16) and two lower members (26,28). The lower members support the upper panel and are designed to be fixed to a supporting structure (30). The seat (14) is fitted to the upper panel, which has a releasable locking mechanism which enables the seat position to be adjusted relative to the upper panel. The lower members are connected to the upper panel by hinges (36,42) with axes (34,40) situated at right angles to one another and parallel to the upper panel. The axis of the first hinge (34) is situated at the apex of a triangle whose base forms the axis of the second hinge (40). The lower members are mounted on guide rails in the floor of the aircraft. |
