<p>Moulding is carried out bu charging a rotating mould with a liquid mixture containing polyfunctional pre-polymers, in which 1 of the prepolymers consists of a polyfunctional polydiene with mainly vinyl side-groups around the other C atom of an extended C skeleton, a polyfunctional organic chain-extender which can react with the functional groups of the polydiene, and a peroxide free-radical initiator which promotes the cylisation and crosslinking of the vinyl side-groups. The mould is heated and rotated, to give an elastomer by reaction between the polydiene and the chain-extender. The moulded article is removed from the mould and hardened by heat, to give a rigid, resinous article. Articles with walls of uniform thickness are obtained. the mould is at constant temperature throughout.</p> |
