Locking mechanism for a coupling device

The locking mechanism(1) is constructed as a lever arrangement by means of which the locking force can be reduced by so much to enable manual unlocking of the mechanism. The mechanism comprises at least one unlocking lever(4) for direct or indirect retention of the locking component(2) in the locked position and for unlocking the mechanism. To reduce the locking force of the unlocking lever the lever arrangement has at least one roller(31) and/or joint. The locking component is a catch which interacts with the unlocking lever via an intermediate lever. An independent claim is included for a coupling arrangement for rail vehicles incorporating the proposed locking mechanism.
