METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING WASTE WATER CONTAINING RESIDUAL OZONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose residual ozone in waste water by an apparatus simple in structure and low in cost. SOLUTION: A treatment apparatus for waste water containing residual ozone is constituted of a water tank 1 partitioned by partition boards 13 so as not only to form a plurality of flow channels S but also to control them to a high water surface position to allow waste water to flow so as to take a stagnation time and an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus 2 permitting the waste water issued from the tank to pass. The water tank 1 is covered with an upper lid 14 excepting a venting hole 15 to restrict the inflow of air. By this constitution, waste water does not come into contact with carbon dioxide in air and the self-decomposition in waste water is kept and residual ozone is decomposed within a short time in the water tank to be reduced in its concn. by half and further efficiently decomposed by the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus to disappear. Residual ozone can be treated by a simple and inexpensive apparatus of the water tank and the ultraviolet irradiation apparatus of small capacity.
