PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rod pipe of a fishing rod by which the weight is effectively lightened while keeping the excellent strength properties. SOLUTION: This method for producing a rod pipe comprises winding a carbon prepreg 4 around a long mandrel 1, strongly winding a wrapping tape on the wound carbon prepreg 4, pressurizing and firing the wound product, and removing the mandrel 1 from the fired product to provide the objective rod pipe. Two kinds of the wrapping tapes having different heat shrinkages with temperature dependence are used when winding the wrapping tape.
