PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel biologically decomposable pipe cleaning sponge ball having sufficient strength, excellent in durability and cleaning characteristics and causing no environmental problem even if the sponge ball flows out from a system. SOLUTION: A biologically decomposable resin principally comprising cellulose acetate having thermal deformation temperature (ASTM D 648 regulation) of 44-55 deg.C under conditions where surface hardness (HR) is 80-100, impact strength is 15-30 kgf.cm/cm2 and load is 18.6 kgf/cm2 and acetylation rate of 45% is employed as a material and sponge balls are produced through water bubbling utilizing the vaporization expansion power of moisture. |
