PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the sheet feeding stable for a long time by providing a means for adjusting a friction coefficient around the outer circumferential face of a feed roller. SOLUTION: A guide member 23 supported movably in the rotary shaft direction of pick rollers 6a, 6b is provided in the upper part of the pick rollers 6a, 6b, polishing members 24a, 24b are attached to the guide member 23, and the guide member 23 is drawn in the arrow A direction in starting the printing by an operator to be moved by a distance L1. The polishing members 24a, 24b are in press contact with the pick rollers 6a (6b). When the pick rollers 6a, 6b are rotated counterclockwise, their surfaces are polished by the polishing members 24a, 24b. In the initial term in printing, the friction coefficientμbecomes approximately stable. The paper feeding force of the pick roller 6a to a recording material 22 F=μW becomes a stable feeding force, becauseμis approximately fixed. This constitution can feed the recording material 22 to an appropriate position between the pick roller 6b and the separate roller 14.
