PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a heat pipe in which no noncondensable gas remains without lowering the yield due to cut-off excessive materials. SOLUTION: A container 1 having an inlet port 4 and a gas retaining container having a port section 6 which is tightly inserted into the inlet port 4 of the container 1 are prepared and the port section 6 of the container 5 is tightly inserted into the inlet port 4 of the container 1 after a working liquid is injected into the container 1. Then the working liquid is evaporated by heating the container 1 and a noncondensable gas in the container 1 is retained in the gas retaining container 5. Thereafter, the inlet port 4 is closed and the port section 6 of the container 5 is removed from the inlet port 4 of the container 1.
