PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proteolytic enzyme-containing cleaning fluid which has a high proteolytic enzyme stability and maintains the enzymatic activity, and a method for stabilizing the proteolytic enzyme in the enzymatic cleaning fluid. SOLUTION: A proteolytic enzyme-containing cleaning fluid can be prepared by adding a modified enzyme obtained by chemically modifying a proteolytic enzyme with a water soluble polymer to a boric acid compound-containing aqueous solution with at least one surface active agent selected from the group consisting of a nonionic surface active agent, an anionic surface active agent, and ampholytic surface active agent to mix them. As the water soluble polymer, a polyethylene glycol, a polysaccharide, a protein or a copolymer of a CH2=C < group-containing compound with maleic anhydride can be used. As the surface active agent, a nonionic type polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester or the like, an anionic type sodium palmitoyl sarcosine or the like, and an ampholytic type alkyl-dimethylaminoacetic acid betaine or the like can be used, and as the boric acid compound, boric acid and a borate is used.
