PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a piece of furniture from falling down without breaking a fixing tool by installing a falling-down preventing device on a top or between the top and a ceiling of a chest of drawers or other furniture, and providing an air tight container which expands by sensing vibration and fills at least a part of a space between the furniture top and the ceiling. SOLUTION: An airtight bag 11 is folded compactly and a small carbon dioxide gas cylinder 12 is contained in the airtight bag 11. A vibration sensing mechanism 13 senses vibration such as earthquake or the like and breaks airtightness of the carbon dioxide gas cylinder 12. A containing box 14 made of a card board or an expanded polystyrene contains these components. If an earthquake occurs and a vibration level received by the vibration sensing mechanism 13 exceeds a specified value, the vibration sensing mechanism 13 breaks the airtightness of the carbon dioxide gas cylinder 12, and a high-pressure carbon dioxide gas in the gas cylinder 12 is discharged in the airtight bag 11. The airtight bag 11 starts to expand and fills a space formed by a top of a chest of drawers, a ceiling above it and a wall behind it, and then stops expanding.
