PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height controlling device of chair armrest or the like which can control height of an arm pad as well as controlling position in right and left direction of a chair arm pad or the like. SOLUTION: A supporting lever comprising an arm pad 10 of a chair is composed of a lower supporting lever 16 and an upper supporting lever 14 which has a larger diameter and is fitted around the lower supporting lever 16. A locking metal fitting 17 is pivoted swingably to an upper part of the upper supporting lever 14. A locking pin 27 is engaged with a locking hole 17c bored in an engaging piece 17a of the locking metal fitting 17, thereby the upper supporting lever 14 is fixed to the lower supporting lever 16.
