PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To spin-dry clothing so weakly that damage to the clothing such as wrinkling is reduced during a standard course and to rather strongly squeeze the clothing even when washing fashionable sweat shirts, etc., by making it possible to freely vary the setting of a rotational number as desired during spin-drying even under a preset washing course, using a washing machine control device controlling washing, rinsing, and spin-drying strokes whenever necessary. SOLUTION: A washing/spin basket freely rotationally placed is rotated by a motor 5, and the rotational number of the washing/spin basket during spin-drying can be set to plural steps by a spin-drying speed setting switch. The motor 5 is controlled by inputs at the spin-drying speed setting switch from a control means 13 to thereby control washing, rinsing, and spin-drying strokes whenever necessary. Even if a spin-drying rotational number is set in a predetermined washing course, the control means 13 can freely vary the setting of the rotational number by means of the spin-drying state setting switch during spin-drying.
