PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a console box which accommodates cards, etc., in assortment effectively from other minor articles in easy operation of accommodating and taking out. SOLUTION: A console box is equipped with a body having an opening in its over-part and a lid 12 attached to the opening in such a way as capable of being opened and closed. The lid 12 is furnished with a shelf plate 18 for card accommodation confronting the inner surface of the lid 12 with a certain space held in between, and a notch continued in the longitudinal direction is formed in the shelf plate in the center across the width. The lid 12 is furnished protrusively on its inner surface with a plurality of parallel ribs 21 in the lid longitudinal direction toward the shelf plate, and the ribs are formed in such an arrangement that the first portion 21a of each opposing to the card inserting/ removing side of the shelf plate is positioned low while the second portion 21b opposing to the inside of the shelf plate is higher than the first portion. The lid has an outer lid 13 and an inner lid 14 installed opposing to the outer 13 with a certain spacing in between, and the shelf plate is formed rigidly on the inner lid 14.
