PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire which can achieve a long lifetime of tire by avoiding a cord rupture of a carcass in good performance and can accomplish a lightweight construction. SOLUTION: The carcass of a pneumatic radial tire includes plies consisting of radially arranged cords stretching in troidal form between a pair of bead parts, and the cord is formed from a plurality of filaments including steel filaments whose ruptural elongation is over 3.5%.
