PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compress a drum into the same rectangular plate shape with small force by cutting both end plates of the drum in the nearly diametric direction arranging a phase in order and pressurizing the body part in the direction of a cut. SOLUTION: Prior to the pressurization against a drum 7, a cut is applied onto a diametric line along the pressurizing direction in both end plates of the drum. Since the pressurizing force against the drum 7 exerts so as to crush the drum into an elliptic shape wherein the direction orthogonal to the cut becomes the major axis, the end plates are torn left and right so that the cut extends. When the drum 7 is further pressurized, the end plates are reasonably bent inward while largely opening the cut. When the pressurization against the drum 7 progresses, the drum is compressed into a rectangular plate shape in a state that the end plates are bent inward. The drum is compressed into 1/7 in volume ratio and the compression ratio is high. Also, since the end plates are compressed into the rectangular plate shape from which the end plates do not protrude out outside, the compressed drums are piled up without generating useless gaps in the piling direction.
