PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head jamb excellent in appearance and design by making it possible to view, from indoors, both the unevenness formed by a groove cover fitted into grooves in a plate constituting the head jamb and the boundary between the groove cover and the plate. SOLUTION: A head jamb 11 includes a long plate 13, a groove cover 15, and a sheet 17. Grooves 19 are extended in one principal surface of the plate 13 along its longitudinal direction. The groove cover 15 is long and fits into the grooves 19 while covering only the interior walls of the grooves 19. The sheet 17 covers the groove cover 15 continuously from the interior walls of the edges of openings in the groove cover 15 to the groove forming surface 13a of the plate 13. Therefore, the groove cover 15 is not projected outside of the grooves 19 and the boundary between the plate 13 and the groove cover 15 is hidden by the sheet 17.
