PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating resin composition which shows a high adhesion against plastic substrates which are not subjected to a physical or chemical pretreatment, solvent resistance, coating hardness and shelf stability and has a good pigment dispersibility. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a chlorinated polyolefin resin with a chlorine content of 50 wt.% or smaller, (B) a chlorinated polyolefin- containing polymer obtained by heating a mixture of a radical polymerizable monomer containing from 10 to 80 wt.% chlorinated polyolefin resin with a chlorine content of 50 wt.% or smaller and a chlorinated polyolefin resin with an organic solvent and a radical polymerization initiator and (C) an acrylic resin wherein the weight average molecular weight, calculated as polystyrene, is from 3,000 to 40,000.
