PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cracking of a hot-melt ink composition for ink jet in a solid state. SOLUTION: To a hot-melt ink composition for ink jet which is solid at room temperatures and which is heated to liquefy and sprayed onto a recording medium to form recording dots, a polyoxyethylene castor oil, a polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil or an alkyl glyceryl ether fatty acid ester is added.
