<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a carry by providing a club head with a movable member in such a manner that this movable member is delayed from the other portions of a head and largely decreases momentum when a ball is hit and, therefore, the momentum possessed by the head is effectively transmitted to the ball. SOLUTION: The club head 10 is internally provided with the movable member 17 which is energized forward by a spring 19. The movable member 17 is moved backward by inertia when a player begins to start swinging the club. When the head 10 hits the ball, the velocity of the head 10 decreases and, therefore, the movable member 17 is moved forward in the head 10 by the inertia and the spring force of a spring. The movable member is reflected by colliding against the rear part of a face member 12. At this the, the momentum possessed by the movable member 17 is transmitted via this face member 17 to the ball. The velocity change before and after the collision of the movable member 17 is larger than the other portions of the head 10 and, therefore, the momentum is effectively transmitted to the ball and the large carry may be obtd.</p> |
