PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a deodorization effect and to extend the time of the effect by comprising Omadine (R) and/or an Omadine(R) metal derivative and at least one zinc salt selected from the group consisting of zinc sulfate, zinc chloride, zinc nitrate, and zinc acetate. SOLUTION: A deodorant for sludge uses (a) Omadine(R) and/or an Omadine(R) metal derivative, (b) at least one zinc salt selected from the group consisting of zinc sulfate, zinc chloride, zinc nitrate, and zinc acetate. Zinc pyrithione is especially preferable as the component (a). Zinc chloride is especially preferable as the component (b). The form of the deodorant is not restricted in particular; however, a form in which the component (a) is dissolved or dispersed in the aqueous solution of the component (b) is preferable in view of handling and others. When dewatered sludge cake is deodorized by using the deodorant, a method in which the deodorant is added to concentrated sludge before dewatering, and the dewatered cake is obtained by dewatering is preferable.
