PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject device capable of precisely gathering a drug metabolism product even included in exhalation notwithstanding that a comparatively large animal such as a monkey is targeted, having a simple structure and cheaply carrying out the gathering. SOLUTION: A sealing material 9 composed of a flexible material is arranged at the periphery of a neck-inserting opening 8 formed on a hermetically sealed vessel 7, and the head part of the subject animal 10, inserted from the neck- inserting opening 8 is hermetically sealed and stored in the hermetically sealed vessel 7. The hermetically sealed vessel 7 is ventilated by communicatively connecting an air-supplying passage 15 and an air-exhausting passage 16 to the hermetically sealed vessel 7 while keeping the atmosphere in the hermetically sealed vessel 7 under a negative pressure. An impinger 17 is connected to the air-exhausting passage 16 to measure the carbon dioxide gas in the exhausting gas.
