SOLUTION: In a silent chain formed by connecting endlessly lots of link plates 10 provided with a pair of teeth having an outside flank 11, arc shape tooth tips 12 and a inside flank 13 and a pair of connection holes 14 for inserting the connection member by this connection member, the tooth length X extending to the tooth tip direction from the meshed point K of the outside flank 11 having a straight line shape tooth surface is made to 5-15% of the pitch P between connection members and the shortest distance Y from the joined point L of the small arc 12a of the arc shape tooth tip part, 12 adjoining to this outside flank 11 with the minute arc 12b of the arc shape tooth tip part 12 adjoining to this inside flank 13 to surface angle forming line M of the outside flank 11 is made to 0.5 to 3.0% of the pitch P between connection members.
