PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make recessed and projecting parts generated on a side wall inconspicuous by providing an annular decorative element on at least one side of the side wall surface of a pneumatic tire, and forming a design about the same as or similar to a tread pattern on the decorative element. SOLUTION: In a pneumatic tire, there is a problem of generating recessed and projecting parts at a joint part of the start of winding carcass ply and the end of winding carcass ply on a side wall of the tire after vulcanizing. In order to make the recessed and projecting parts generated on the side wall of the tire inconspicuous, an annular decorative element is provided on the surface of the side wall, and a design similar to a tread pattern is formed. The design formed on the decorative element is made to be about 0.3 to 3 mm in depth. A trademark is overlappingly formed on the design on the decorative element, which make it possible to distinguish the tread pattern only by looking from the side of the tire.
