PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge a printed matter outside a printer in order in a state so that the printed matter is easy to handle, and prevent a waste material from mixing with the printed matter when the printed matter accompanies the waste material. SOLUTION: This printer can print to both cutform papers and continuous papers transferred by a transfer means. Continuous papers are cut and separated for every printed matter by a cutting means 3. In this case, an engagement member 25 is set immediately below an opening part 17 through which a printer printed matter is discharged outside the printer. The engagement member projecting forward engages a terminal edge part of the printed matter. A waste material discharge opening 27 is formed below the engagement member for guiding a waste material to the outside.
