PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a sewing attachment for a low shank to the lower end portion of a presser bar to permit its use that cannot be done in conventional sewing machines capable of both normal sewing and embroidery sewing, since the presser bars of such sewing machines are shorter than those of normal sewing machines. SOLUTION: An adapter 30 having an upper connection 31 releasably connected to the lower end portion of a presser bar 9 by a connecting screw member 40 and a lower connection 35 formed at the lower end portion and having a sewing attachment removably attached thereto by an attaching screw member 45 is used whereby the sewing attachment for a low shank can be usably attached to the lower end portion of the presser bar 9 of an embroidering machine M.
