PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control receiver for automatic opening and closing device and its ID code registering method which can prevent mistaken registration of an ID code of a transmitter made by a nonpermitted utilizer as the registering work of the ID code is made easier. SOLUTION: A remote control receiver for an automatic switching device is equipped with a memory section which can register the ID code of a plurality of remote control transmitters in the same series being severally different in ID code of an electric wave. The ID code of the remote control transmitter (master equipment) of the first set is previously registered in the memory section, and within a fixed time after receiving the ID code of the registered remote control transmitter, in the case of having received the electric wave of a nonregistered remote control transmitter, the ID code of the electric wave is temporarily stored (S14), and after an electric wave of the master unit is then received again, the electric wave of nonregistered remote transmitter is received again, and when the ID code of the electric wave coincides with the ID code of the temporarily stored ID code, the ID code is registered in the memory section (S19).
