<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a power transmitting device for a washing machine and its rattling noises and to decrease the height and volume of the entire washing machine through a reduction in number of component parts by simplifying the structure of the power transmitting device. SOLUTION: A power transmitting device for a washing machine includes upper and lower cover flanges 102c, 102d enclosing a drive source 102 present in the lower portion of an outer tub 2 and fastened to the lower end face of the outer tub 2 by a clamping member 99 in such a way as to support the drive source 102, a motor shaft 101 disposed on the inner peripheral surface of the rotor 102b of the drive source 102 in such a way as to rotate integral with the rotor 102b, a sealing member 2a providing sealing between the outer tub 2 and the motor shaft 101 so that water in the outer tub 2 does not leak, and causing the motor shaft 101 to rotate independently of the outer tub 2, and a ball bearing 2b with an inner ring pressed in over the outer peripheral surface of the motor shaft 101 at the underside of the sealing member 2a and with an outer ring pressed in over the inner peripheral surface of the upper cover flange 102c.</p> |
