PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cushioning member for packaging a tubelike object wherein a structure can be simplified without degrading cushioning and protecting function and accessories are visible. SOLUTION: The cushioning member for receiving and packaging, in a corrugated fiberboard box 3, a tubelike object 2 having a protruding structure 1 on an outer periphery includes a support face 12 larger than a cross-sectional area of the tubelike object 2 including the protruding structure 1, a pair of support legs 8 comprising a corrugated fiberboard in a rectangular gate shape for straddle-supporting the tubelike object 2 laterally at its both ends by a circular hole 14 formed on the support face 12, and a channel-like cushioning material 9 suspended between the support legs 8 for covering the protruding structure 1 of the tubelike object 2 and regulating rotation of the tubelike object 2. An accessory housing 15 is opened above at least one of the support legs 8 so that it may not be covered by the cushioning material 9 when attached.
