PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general type combine harvester improved in operating efficiency, allowing an operator to easily get on and off the cab through both sides of the machine body and also ensuring its free operation and work in the cab without any troubles by placing the cab in a specific position. SOLUTION: This general type combine harvester is liftably equipped with a reaping section 18 at the front position of the machine body via a feeder house 21, wherein a cab 16 is disposed on the latitudinally nearly center position of the machine body over the feeder house 21 and an operator's seat 14 is positioned at the approximately middle portion of the cab 16. In this case, a vertical frame standing on the cab 16 may support a monitor adjustably as to its position, the output shaft of the engine and input shaft of the driving transmission case may be disposed in the latitudinal direction of the machine body and also engagedly interlinked with each other through a belt transmission mechanism.
