PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intuitively and easily grasp a three-dimensional layout of buried objects near a drill head. SOLUTION: An antenna 16 is built in to face an inclined face at the end of a drill head and electromagnetic waves are radiated into subsoil from the antenna 16, with the reflected waves received for radar scans of buried objects. A first image whose coordinatesθ, (t) are the angleθof the drill head about an axis and reflection time (t) is displayed on a visual observation display means 63 such as liquid crystals or a cathode-ray tube to correspond to the distance (x) traveled by a propulsion element. A second image whose coordinates (x), (t) are the distance (x) traveled and the reflection time (t) is also displayed to correspond to the angleθ.
|
