PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one-way clutch which stabilizes its action without hopping and the like even if idling and locking are repeated, prevents its parts from being separated during its transportation, can be assembled with ease, and has no danger of the run-off and defective meshing of a garter spring. SOLUTION: In a one-way clutch, in which supported parts 5c are provided for both the side surfaces of each sprag 5 in such a way as to be positioned over each center of the curvature of an inner and an outer cam surfaces or at each place close to the aforesaid centers, and a step part 5d is provided for letting each sprag 5 be energized to the locking side with a garter spring turned around, holding units (brim part) 3a and 3b supporting each sprag 5 at the supported parts 5c at both the sides of each sprag 5, are integrated while being combined with a connection part 3c passing through each sprag 5, and the outer circumference of each holding unit 3a and 3b is brought into the orbital plane 1a of an outer ring so as to be pressed therein. By this constitution, each holding unit 3, each sprag 5 and a garter spring 6 are thereby integrated in the axial direction with respect to the outer ring 1.
