PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical magnetic levitation turning gear requiring a fewer number of prepared hardwares. SOLUTION: A control type magnetic bearing device has a machine main body 1 and a controller 2. The machine main body 1 has a rotor 3, a displacement detector 4, plural sets of control type magnetic bearings 5, 6, and 7, and an electric motor 8. The controller 2 has a control part 26 to output a motor control signal in order to control the electric motor 8, as well as to output an electromagnetic control signal in order to control the electromagnets of the magnetic bearings 5 to 7 depending on the output signal of the displacement detector 4; an inverter 19 to drive the electric motor 8 depending on the motor control signal; and a power source device 25 for the control part 26 and the inverter 19. The controller 2 is divided into a main body unit 14 having the control part 26 and the power source device 25; and an inverter unit 15 having the inverter 19; and the inverter unit 15 can be connected and separated electrically, to the main body unit 14.
