PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional fuel injection valve of accumulator type which is large sized and heavy because of long valve body, susceptibleness to fluctuation, and decreased buckling strength resulting from disposing a spring in a nozzle chamber at lower side (injection port side) of the piston. SOLUTION: A spring 10 is disposed in a control chamber 12 at the upper side (injection port side) of a piston 9b. This makes it possible to reduce the whole length of the valve body 9. As the length of the valve body 9 is reduced, it is unlikely to be deformed such as deflection, resulting in simplified manufacturing thereof. The buckling strength of the valve body 9 is also improved.
