PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a shutter device without greatly remodeling a building itself, when improving the shutter device to convert it from a manually operated type to a motor-driven type. SOLUTION: First and second securing pulleys 8, 10 are provided on the tops of one side and the other of an opening 2. First and second lifting pulleys 12, 14 are provided on one side and the other of the seat plate of a shutter main body 5. One end 22A of a wire rope 22 is connected to the drum 20 of a motor winch 17. The other end 22B of the wire rope 22 is stretched from the pulley 8 to the pulleys 12, 14 and the pulley 10. A weight 23 is provided in a hanging position at the other end 22B. A stopper 24 that can be locked with the weight 23 is provided. Hence, the shutter main body 5 can be raised and lowered by rotating the motor winch 17 in normal and reverse directions for winding and unwinding the wire rope 22. The wire rope 22 is provided with a projecting piece 25, and a limit switch 26 reacting to the projecting piece 25 is provided. Therefore, the motor winch 17 can be brought to an emergency stop if the shutter main body 5 fails while it is falling.
