PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and safely perform maintenance and inspection work in an elevator hoistway, by forming a roof part as a case with an upper surface part flat and with an inner part serving as a storage space, and internally mounting a car accessory equipment such as luminaire, ventilating fan, control equipment in this roof part so as to prevent protruding in the flat upper surface part of the roof part. SOLUTION: A roof part 2 constituted by a case is mounted in an upper part of a car main unit 8. The inside of this roof part 2 serves as a storage space, an upper surface part thereof is formed as a flat surface. A car accessory equipment 3 such as luminaire, ventilating fan, control equipment is internally mounted in the storage space of this roof part 2 so as to prevent protruding in the flat upper surface part of the roof part 2. In the case of performing maintenance and inspection in an elevator hoistway, work is performed on the flat upper surface part of the roof part 2. Here, since this constitution is formed without protruding the car accessory equipment 3 such as the lighting fixture, ventilating fan, control equipment, to an upper surface part of a car 1, a scaffold can be surely ensured by preventing obstruction by these car accessory equipment 3.
