<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the upper end of a plasma electrode and to surely add another electrode to the electrode. SOLUTION: A plasma melting furnace on the top of which a plasma electrode 2 is provided through the main body 1 of the furnace and, at the same time, a mast 21 extended upward is integrally provided with the main body 1 and an arm 23 having a first clamping section 22 which can clamp and un- clamp the electrode 2 is attached to the mast 21 in a vertically movable state so that another plasma electrode may be added to the electrode 2 by utilizing the clamping section 22. In addition, an end face detecting sensor 24 which detects the upper end of the plasma electrode 2 is attached to the arm 23.</p> |
