<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device for a bush cutter, obstructing no work and improved in operability. SOLUTION: This brake device 40 for a bush cutter 1 is equipped with a clutch case 1a in front of an engine 3, operational lever 5 extending forward from the clutch case 1a, cutter 4 on the front end of the lever 5, brake lever 13 attached to the lever 5, transmission shaft 6 held within the lever 5, centrifugal clutch held within the clutch case 1a, clutch drum 41 set to the side of the transmission shat 6 of the centrifugal clutch, support shaft 45 in the vicinity of the clutch drum 41, arm 43 attached to the support shaft 45 in such a way that it can swing, brake shoe 42 on one end of the arm 43, and brake wire connected to the other end of the arm 43, wherein most part of the brake wire 23 is run along the external face 5a of the operational lever 5, and positioned at the external face 5b which is, for an operator M, on the other side of the vertical centerline VL of the operational lever 5. This arrangement prevents the brake wire 23 from contacting with an operator M at the arm or body, thus providing no obstacle to him.</p> |
