<p>Television tube is made by heat assembly of the front of the tube and the middle of the cone. Both are of soft glass, bonded with glass based adhesive with interposition of the grid. The wires of the latter are a non-magnetic alloy whose cobalt content exceeds 20% by wt. The contents are such that during heat treatment oxides come to the surface and provide an air-tight connection between alloy and bonding material, so that a second heat treatment to thicken the wires' ends is unnecessary. Specif., the alloy contains in % by wt. C approx. 0.1, Si approx. 0.3, Mn approx. 1.5, Ni 10-30, Mo or W 2-15, Co 25-45 and Fe approx. 16.</p> |
