TITANIUM DIOXIDE SLURRY HAVING REDUCED NUMBER OF COARSE PARTICLES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a titanium dioxide slurry uniform in particle size of titanium dioxide and having a reduced number of coarse titanium dioxide particles. SOLUTION: The number of coarse titanium dioxide particles contained in a titanium dioxide slurry is reduced by wet-comminuting the slurry to obtain the objective slurry which simultaneously satisfies the following necessary conditions (a) and (b); (a) <=10 sec filtration time at the time of filtering 5 ml slurry prepd. so as to attain 20.0 wt.% concn. of titanium dioxide based on the total weight of the slurry with an isopore filter having 10μm opening and 2.5 cm diameter in an atmosphere of 25 deg.C and 160 mmHg and (b) <=50 cP viscosity at the time of measuring the viscosity of the slurry prepd. so as to attain 20.0 wt.% concn. of titanium dioxide based on the total weight of the slurry in an atmosphere of 25 deg.C and 160 mmHg.
