PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition capable of giving coating material excellent in anticorrosion, adhesion, hardening properties and solvent resistance. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition comprises (A) an unsaturated epoxy ester resin obtained by addition reaction of an epoxy compound having two or more epoxy groups in a molecule with a carboxylic constituent containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid having double bond in a molecule and a compound having both one or more alkoxysilyl groups and one or more groups capable of reacting with epoxy group and (B) water.
