PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of smoothing the skin through covering unevennesses developed on the skin due to various causes and thereby capable of remedying the skin as if the unevennesses were absent visually by including a silicone-modified polysaccharide compound, a low- viscosity silicone oil and/or a powder ingredient. SOLUTION: This composition for external use is obtained by including (A) a silicone-modified polysaccharide compound (e.g. silicone-modified pullulan), (B) a low-viscosity silicone oil and/or (C) a powder ingredient pref. 1.3-1.5 in refractive index such as silicon dioxide powder, silicone resin powder, silicone rubber powder or silicone resin-coated rubber powder; wherein it is preferable that the amount of the ingredients A and B to be formulated is >=70.0 wt.% based on the weight corresponding to the value obtained by deducting the weight of the ingredient C (when volatile ingredient(s) is formulated in this composition, the weight of the ingredient C plus the volatile ingredient(s)) from the weight of the whole composition, and the refractive index of >=90 wt.% of the ingredient C to be formulated is 1.3-1.5.
