PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dynamic leakage of a pressurized fuel, decrease a pump capacity and fuel consumption. SOLUTION: An injector of a common rail type fuel injection system is provided with a hole 29 for introducing, via a throttle passage 42, pressurized fuel that acts on the upper end surface 32 of the upper end 31 of a needle inserted into a nozzle body, a pressure control chamber 33 for lifting up the needle 2 and leaking the fuel within the hole by opening the hole, and a protrusive stopper 44 that abuts against at least one of the needle or the nozzle body during ascending of the needle so as to close an inlet 43 of the pressure control chamber. The protrusive stopper is formed to have the size such that the pressurized fuel acts on the upper end surface of the needle during closing of the inlet.
