PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch an operating condition with a good accuracy, and improve exhaust component, combustion noise, and smoke by detecting at least one of multiple parameters, and selecting either two kinds of operating conditions on the basis of the parameter, in a fuel infection device capable of switching into two kinds of operating conditions. SOLUTION: Fuel is injected from an injection hole by a fuel injection nozzle 61 when a nozzle seat part is opened by a needle valve lift. An operating condition in which fuel pressure formed upstream from the nozzle seat part when fuel is injected is constantly held and atomization having a good ignition property is supplied, and an operating condition in which atomization having a wrong ignition property is supplied, are selectively switched by an operating condition switching means 62. A parameter appeared as a change of a combustion ratio by a difference between two kinds of the operating conditions is detected by a parameter detecting means 63. Either one of two kinds of the operating conditions is selected on the basis of the detected parameter by a selecting means 64. It is thus possible to switch two kinds of the operating conditions with a good accuracy.
