PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large displacement absorption system of a bridge which can reduce damage after an earthquake into a low level to secure traffic functions of vehicles. SOLUTION: This system provided with a first slide plate 41, a second slide plate 42, an extensible/contractible joint 20, and asphalt pavement parts 61, 62, absorbs a displacement when floor slabs 31, 32 are relatively displaced largely in the direction of the bridge axis. A first loose gap S1 is opened between both floor slabs 31, 32. The vertical shift of the slide plates 41, 42 is regulated against the floor slabs 31, 32, and the slide plates are transferable by a specified distance in the bridge axis against the floor slabs 31, 32. A second loose gap S2 shorter than the first loose gap S1 is opened between both slide plates 41, 42. Both slide plates 41, 42 are connected to each other by the extensible/contractible joint 20.
