PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety during operation by surrounding a cutting means for cutting and separating a printing paper sheet per printed matter unit so that it can be isolated without the reach of a finger from the outside. SOLUTION: A cutting means 3 for cutting and separating a continuous paper sheet 1a per printed matter unit is surrounded by a dedicated cover 16 for isolating the same from the inadvertent reach to a cutter part of a finger or a foreign substance from the outside. A printer cover is provided outside the dedicated cover 16. Moreover, a fastening part for fastening the cutting means 3 to the base frame of the printer main body is stored in the dedicated cover 16. Furthermore, the front part 30 of the dedicated cover 16 is formed detachably to the cover main body. A driven roller 31 of an end part discharging roller 6 for discharging the paper sheet 1a passing through the cutting means 3 to the outside is provided at the rear side of the front part 30 of the dedicated cover 16. Accordingly, inadvertent contact of a finger with the cutter part can be prevented absolutely at the time of the maintenance work of the paper replacement, repair, or the like with the printer cover opened.
