PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shorts type disposable diaper imparted with a good wearing feel and an effective excrement leakproof function without decreasing its absorbing capability. SOLUTION: A disposable diaper is formed in the shape of shorts comprising an absorbent body and an outer member pressing and holding the absorbent body against the wearer. Plural pieces of stretching elastic materials 6, 7 leading from one side edge to the other side edge via a crotch part are arranged, respectively, on the front and rear bodies of the diaper, with some of the pieces disposed along leg openings 2. These pieces are intermittently arranged at intervals of 1 to 30 mm at the crotch part.
