PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject emulsion capable of providing a component in a personal care prescription, having a unique particle size distribution, improved coating performances, etc., by including a silicone and a specific nonaqueous organic hydroxyl solvent. SOLUTION: This emulsion is an nonaqueous emulsion of a composition comprising (A) a silicone (preferably an silicone elastomer such as a reaction product of a radical-polymerization of an organopolysiloxane, a silicone obtained by hydrosilylation reaction of an alkenylsilicone precursor and a hydrogensilicone precursor, etc.), and (B) a nonaqueous organic hydroxyl solvent (preferably ethylene glycol, ethanol, propyl alcohol, propylene glycol, etc.). The emulsion contains a continuous nonaqueous phase. The emulsion is useful as a component for a cosmetic composition such as a deodorant, a perspiration inhibitor, etc.
