PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce over compression loss during full load operation. SOLUTION: In a spiral of a first scroll 31 of a capacity controllable scroll compressor, a relief valve 49 that communicates a first fluid working chamber A or a second fluid working chamber B to the inside of a discharge dome 38 at a position such as a pressure inside an arbitrary working chamber yields the same spiral capacity compression ratio as the spiral capacity compression ratio VrHP when operation reaches an operation high pressure Hp. Accordingly, the relief valve 49 opens when over compression exceeding the operation high pressure Hp occurs while low compression operation during full load, so as to release the high pressure gas inside the fluid working chamber to the discharge dome 38 side. That is, over compression operation during full load operation is prevented, leading to prevention of increase in compression input or breakage of the first and second scrolls 31, 32.
