MULTI-COIL PROBE SIMULTANEOUSLY MEASURING DEPTH AND THICKNESS OF STEEL REINFORCEMENT IN CONCRETE AND MEASURING METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A multi-coil probe is described, which can simultaneously measure depth and thickness of steel reinforcement in concrete. CONSTITUTION: The probe comprises many sensing coils set to an inside and outside of an exciting coils therein, and can simultaneously measure an inside and outside field distributions with induced voltage variation because each distribution is different according to the thickness and depth of laid steel reinforcement. Although both the thickness and the depth thereof are not known, the probe having many sensing coils is used to compare and analyze induced voltage variation value to measured unknown reinforcement with depth having the same thickness of all reinforcement previously measured and the variation value of the measured thickness, simultaneously measuring depth and thickness of steel reinforcement in concrete.
