PURPOSE: The thermal protection circuit of an IC is provided to protect the IC from the thermal destruction by using the band gap reference as a standard voltage. CONSTITUTION: The thermal protection circuit of an IC comprises: a reference voltage generating unit(100) for generating the reference voltage by consisting of a band gap reference; a temperature setting piece(210) for generating the temperature setting voltage by dividing the reference voltage; a temperature sensing piece(220) for generating the sensing signal by sensing the temperature setting voltage; and a feedback piece(240) for returning the output signal of a temperature sensing operating piece(230) to the temperature setting piece(210).
